More than 80,000 people are expected to attend this weekend’s No Kings Rally in St. Paul, intended to protest the actions of Donald Trump and his administration. It will take place just outside of Minneapolis, where ICE agents recently killed two American citizens, Renée Good and Alex Pretti. The protests that have been going on for over a year now will feature a celebrity-stacked lineup this year, including the recently announced Bruce Springsteen.

In response to the recent ICE incursion in January of this year, Bruce Springsteen wrote his now political anthem, “Streets of Minneapolis,” which illustrates the conflict. His performance this weekend will be just three days before he kicks off his Land of Hopes and Dreams tour at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Springsteen is expected to perform this song during the rally and on tour.
The “Born in the U.S.A.” singer is joining fellow performers, Jane Fonda, Joan Baez, and Maggie Rogers. U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan are all also expected to be in attendance.
Bruce Springsteen is no stranger to challenging the actions of Donald Trump and his administration, much less to politically charged music. The personal element of their clash began in 2016 when “Born in the U.S.A.” was played at Trump’s rallies without approval. Perhaps, Trump didn’t realize the song is the opposite of a nationalist anthem as he intended for it to be. The feud has continued to become bolder since then.
We expect The Boss to put on a very emotionally critical show, targeting “King Trump’s private army from the DHS” and other recent actions. With Springsteen leading the crowd of thousands, it’s unlikely that this rally could be ignored, but heard throughout the nation instead.
Be prepared for Bruce Springsteen’s powerful performance in the provoked city of St. Paul this
weekend.
