Country music star Ella Langley came to win at last night’s annual ACM Awards in Las Vegas. After taking home five awards last year, the Alabama-born hitmaker snagged a total of seven trophies yesterday, breaking the previous record of six wins in one year, held by Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Chris Stapleton.

Langley started off strong, taking home her first award of the night for Artist-Songwriter of the Year. She was then joined onstage by friend and fellow Alabama native Riley Green as they won the Music Event of the Year category for their recent duet “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Last night marked the second win for the duo in the Music Event of the Year category after taking home the last year’s trophy for “You Look Like You Love Me.”

“I’m so proud of how far you’ve come, and you continue to surprise everybody with everything you do in your career,” Green said about Langley during their acceptance speech. “More than anything, I’m really proud of how you represent our home state of Alabama.”

Langley also took home the Song of the Year and Single of the Year categories, both for her smash-hit “Choosin’ Texas,” which just reached its 10th week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Before the final few awards were announced, Langley took to the stage for a performance. She sang a stripped-back, acoustic version of “Be Her,” a recent hit from her latest album, Dandelion.

Just one year after winning the ACM for New Female Artist of the Year, Langley rounded out the night with one of the highest ACM honors: Female Artist of the Year. The songwriter teared up as she approached the stage, where she thanked all of the women who helped make the song possible and shouted out her fellow female nominees in attendance: Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson.

“This is a weird thing to do,” Langley explained. “And today, I was having a strange day … and I walked right into Lainey’s room, and I just got emotional, and she hugged me and wrapped me up and started praying for me. And then all of a sudden, here comes Miranda Lambert in her little pink hat. Y’all, I would not be standing up here without encouragement from so many women. Kelsea, thank you so much for lovin’ on me.”

Langley finished her speech with a tribute to fellow females around the world.

“Thank you to the women. I would not be standing up here without them. So, thank you.”
