AMA Awards Announced 2026 Nominations with Country Music Heavily Featured

The American Music Awards announced the line up of 2026 nominees, and country music is right in the middle of the action. Country stars such as Morgan Wallen, Ella Langley, Shaboozey, Bailey Zimmerman, and more are all nominated in major categories. Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, BigXthaThug, and Megan Moroney were also nominated, underscoring country music's presence in most major categories.
Alongside Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, and more pop music superstars, Morgan Wallen will be representing country music in the Artist of the Year category. This award is considered the biggest and most prestigious award any artist can take away from the AMA's. Similarly surrounded by pop genre pioneers, Ella Langley will be going against sombr, Alex Warren, and KATSEYE for the coveted New Artist of the Year award.
Ella Langley, being one of this year's biggest country music stars, is nominated for five awards total. Following New Artist of the Year, Langley is nominated for Best Female Country Artist, Song of the Year, Best Country Song, and Song of the Summer for "Choosin' Texas".
Langley's competition for Best Female Country Artist is stiff to say the least. Miranda Lambert, Megan Moroney, Kelsea Ballerini, and Lainey Wilson are also nominated for the award. With a mix of old friends and new mentors, this category is filled with generational careers and budding superstars.
For Best Male Country Artist, Jelly Roll, Riley Green, Shaboozey, Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs stack this category after all of them have had stellar years in their careers.
The 52nd Annual American Music Awards will air live on May 25th, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+. For Country Music Fans looking to vote for their favorite stars, voting is open at VoteAMAs.com and on Instagram until May 8th, 2026.
