Billy Strings Calls Out Fan After Being Struck Onstage by Object Mid-Speech

Bluegrass artist Billy Strings didn’t hold back during the first of his three shows in Fishers, Indiana, on Thursday night after he was hit in the forehead with an unidentified object.

Strings was in the middle of a speech when the incident occurred, explaining how excited he was to be back in Indiana after he previously had to postpone the show.

After he was struck with the object, Strings quickly backtracked on his admiration.

“What the hell, man? Maybe not. Maybe I shouldn’t have came back,” he said. “You know, why the fk would you throw something at me? Is your dk really that small? I was just getting ready to say how much I’m happy to be here, and I love you guys and all this st and then you throw something and it hits me right in the fking head.”

“Find out who that was and sodomize them, please,” he continued before strumming his guitar.

The action was immediately met by boos from the crowd, and fans have taken to social media to comment on the decline in concert etiquette in recent years.

“Some people weren’t raised right and had no business being there,” one user commented on Instagram. “It made me sad to see him so upset.”

“Ol boy seems like one of the most humble and down-to-earth people and you’re treating him like that? Wild,” another user said.

In what appeared to be an effort to make the best of the situation, Strings returned for his second show in Fishers, Indiana, on Friday wearing a hockey helmet, complete with a glass visor shielding his eyes.

The Grammy-winning singer didn’t say much more about the incident, but he did slip in the lyrics “don’t let your lighters fly” during a song before swapping his helmet for a cap.

Strings is set to continue his tour later this month at the Ionia Freak Fair in Ionia, Michigan.
