Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s love story is one of country music and Hollywood’s favorite romances. The two first met in January 2005 at the G’Day USA gala, an event celebrating Australians in Los Angeles. Though sparks didn’t fly instantly, but they reconnected four months later and quickly grew close.

Urban, then a rising country star, and Kidman, already an Academy Award winning actress, found common ground in their shared roots from Australia. By May 2006, less than a year after they began dating, Urban proposed, and the couple married the following month in a romantic ceremony in Sydney, Australia. Their wedding was celebrated with 230 close friends and family, notably including Kidman’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise. After the reception, the newlyweds flew to French Polynesia for their honeymoon.

Their marriage hasn’t been without its challenges, particularly early on when Urban entered rehab just months after their wedding. Kidman stood firmly by his side, and the experience only seemed to strengthen their bond. Over the years, they’ve built a life together that blends their careers with raising their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Known for their affectionate displays at award shows and their heartfelt social media tributes to one another, Urban and Kidman’s relationship has become a symbol of resilience and devotion. Nearly two decades later, they remain one of the entertainment industry’s most admired power couples which is why their separation came as a huge surprise to fans.

On September 30th, Nicole Kidman officially filed for divorce from Keith Urban, citing “irreconcilable differences” in documents submitted in Davidson County Circuit Court in Nashville. The filing came after news broke that the pair had separated following 19 years of marriage. In advance of the divorce filing, Kidman and Urban had already signed a Marital Dissolution Agreement and a Parenting Plan. According to the custody agreement, Kidman is to be the primary residential parent for their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, while Urban will have visitation rights on alternate weekends.

Under the terms laid out in their settlement, both Kidman and Urban waived claims to alimony or spousal support from the other. The documents also state that each party will be responsible for their own debts and that any assets and property interests are addressed in the agreement, leaving no outstanding claims beyond what is already resolved. The split has drawn significant media attention, in part because sources suggest their separation had been underway for months.

A close source to the couple told Us Weekly that behind the scenes both parties had been spending “a lot of time apart due to work commitments” and had been living “separate lives.”

Most recently, Urban got candid and said life on tour was "lonely and miserable." With him on tour and Kidman busy with her incredibly successful acting career, their lives seemed to be going in separate directions.

Like everyone else we are sad to see this power couple's inevitable end.
