Megan Moroney Gets Bold With New Song “Wish I Didn’t”

Breakout country star, Megan Moroney, gave fans a taste of her upcoming album “Cloud 9” with a new song, “Wish I Didn’t,” along with a music video starring Dylan Efron. The Queen of Sad-Girl Country has just made Esquire’s “15 Most Anticipated Albums of 2026,” being named “one of country music’s brightest new talents”. “Wish I Didn’t” has fans in a whirlwind and riddled with anticipation.

With this long-awaited single finally reaching the ears of fans everywhere, Moroney’s “Cloud 9” era has officially begun. With Nashville songwriting legends, Moroney wrote this bold, fiery track with Emily Weisband, Hillary Lindsey, and Luke Laird. “Wish I Didn’t” is an anthem, calling out the walking red flags of the world. Moroney cultivates an energizing song with “pulse-pounding rhythms and radiant guitar tones”. 


Directed by Lauren Dunn, the official music video for “Wish I Didn’t” is a modern-day rendition of the action-comedy box office hit, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, with Moroney and Efron playing our two leads who live secret double lives. Moroney left a trail of easter eggs for her fans to decode in this video and leaves everyone guessing with a cliffhanger.

Alongside “Wish I Didn’t”, Moroney’s new album “Cloud 9” will feature her country radio hits like “6 Months Later” and “Beautiful Things”. Fans also have star-studded features to look forward to, such as Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran. Fans should look forward to some of Moroney’s best work, as she is a writer on every song off her upcoming album. The Georgia Singer says she wrote this album as “the strongest, most confident version” of herself. 


Megan Moroney’s rise to country music royalty will be on full display when her third album, “Cloud 9”, is released on February 20th, 2026. Moroney will also embark on “THE CLOUD 9 TOUR” in May, an international, 49-date run with over 450,000 tickets already sold.
