Morgan Wallen is facing backlash for the second weekend in a row after announcing the last minute cancellation of his Saturday Pittsburgh show due to adverse weather via social media. The country hitmaker warned fans just after 1 p.m. that the large stage setup featured on his 2026 Still The Problem Tour could pose a potential safety threat to crowdgoers in the event of strong winds.

“After talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night,” Wallen wrote. “Safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority.”

Wallen’s announcement was met with immediate backlash. Fans complained about ticket costs, travel expenses and the emotional toll of the last-minute cancellation. Many fans also complained about the fact that Pittsburgh did not experience severe weather on Saturday night, only a few small rain showers. This led to Wallen making a rare video explaining his team's decision to cancel the show.

The cancellation comes just one week after Wallen faced criticism for pushing over and breaking his piano on stage after experiencing a sound malfunction.

Many curious fans held out hope that Wallen’s cancellation meant that he would make a surprise pop-up appearance at Nashville’s annual CMA Fest, which turned out to be a rumor. Others speculated that the cancellation stemmed from a situation that occurred the previous evening during Friday’s Pittsburgh show, during which Wallen snatched a fan’s phone from a security guard who was videoing the singer and then angrily threw it into the crowd.

Some fans and news outlets allege that Wallen was already on his way home to Tennessee before making the announcement.

"Acrisure Stadium officials fuming," KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin claimed on X. "Sources confirm … Wallen left town on plane before they even had meeting and demanded they announce the cancellation after he was in the air."

It appears that Wallen will not be offering an alternative tour date for those who planned on attending his second Pittsburgh stop. He left fans with one resolution via his Instagram story: “Refunds available at point of purchase.”
