Country star Riley Green has joined the elite roster of coaches on The Voice, the first country singer added to the team since Reba McEntire’s departure in 2025. Green will be joining an elite roster of coaches for season 30 of The Voice this fall. Producers recently revealed this year’s coaching lineup, which also includes Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine.

The show teased Green’s participation in the forthcoming season with cryptic posts via social media. One photo depicted The Voice’s iconic red chair in front of a field, complete with a cowboy hat resting on the arm and a barn in the background.

“Something’s brewin’… and it sounds pretty country….” the caption read.

Another post showed the chair in a marsh-like setting with a duck flying overhead. Fans quickly threw out guesses in the comments as to who the new coach would be, with many guessing correctly after the duck hint was revealed. Shortly after The Voice posted one final image of the iconic chair, this time with a giant mustache on the back, the show revealed Green as one of the season’s new coaches.

“I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall,” Green wrote in an Instagram comment.

Green will be the only country coach during the forthcoming season. This also marks the return of the country music genre to the show, after Reba McEntire’s departure after season 28. She replaced The Voice’s original and most recognized country coach Blake Shelton, who joined the show during its debut in 2011 and departed after season 23.

The Voice won’t be Green’s first on-screen gig, though, as the hitmaker made his acting debut in April as Garrett on the CBS Yellowstone spinoff, Marshals.

The addition of Green to The Voice’s coaching roster adds on to a very successful year for the Alabama native. In addition to Marshals and The Voice, Green has also been busy with his Cowboy As It Gets Tour. He’ll also be performing at the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 17, where he’s nominated for Artist-Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year for Don’t Mind If I Do (Deluxe) and Music Event of the Year for “Don’t Mind If I Do” featuring Ella Langley.

Season 30 of The Voice premieres this fall on NBC, with Carson Daly set to return as host. Producers are expected to reveal a fourth coach at a later date.
