CMA Fest has been bringing country music fans to Nashville for more than 50 years, but this year proved the festival is no longer just for the people inside the stadium. Between fan-made videos, surprise appearances, unexpected collaborations and moments that took over social media in real time, CMA Fest became something everyone could participate in, whether they were packed into Nissan Stadium or watching from their phone.

From viral outfits and surprise reunions to onstage romances and movie-star cameos, the weekend delivered plenty of moments that kept the internet talking. In case you missed it, here are the CMA Fest moments that took over everyone’s feed.

1. Ella Langley Stuns in All Black During Surprise Moment With Gretchen Wilson

Ella Langley had already delivered a standout set of her own, but fans got another surprise when she returned to the stage Thursday night at Nissan Stadium alongside Gretchen Wilson. Langley walked out in an all-black leather look, a major contrast from the white, flowy dress she wore earlier in the night, and the outfit immediately became part of the conversation online. The look fit the moment perfectly as she and Wilson teamed up for Wilson’s 2004 hit, “Here for the Party.” The performance had the kind of energy CMA Fest is built for. The crowd was on its feet, Langley looked completely in her element, and the pairing quickly became one of the first major viral clips of the weekend.

2. Hip-Hop and Country Collabs Made Their Presence Known

One of the biggest themes of CMA Fest was the continued crossover between country and hip-hop. Waka Flocka Flame seemed to be everywhere, continuing his growing presence in the country space as he leans into new music, while Blanco Brown and Shaboozey also represented the genre-blending side of country that has only become more visible in recent years.

Then there was Russell Dickerson bringing out Fetty Wap for “Trap Queen,” a moment that felt like a long time coming after Dickerson’s viral videos singing the 2016 hit himself. This of course led to their collaboration on “BOOTS” which merged both of their genres in a way that felt perfectly fitting for summer. The result of Fetty Wap’s surprise performance was one of the most unexpected, nostalgic and crowd-pleasing moments of the weekend.

3. Did CMA Fest Bring Back 2010s Country?

Beyond the hip-hop crossovers, CMA Fest also had a noticeable wave of 2010s country energy. Florida Georgia Line’s reunion on Thursday night instantly became one of the most talked-about moments of the week, reminding fans how much that era still resonates. Little Big Town also had a strong presence throughout the festival, while Midland’s new music brought a familiar but fresh sound back into the conversation.

Together, these moments made it feel like CMA Fest was not only focused on the next generation of country stars, but also revisiting the artists and sounds that shaped the last decade of the genre. Whether it was nostalgia, timing or a genuine resurgence, 2010s country was everywhere this weekend.

4. Stella Lefty and Vincent Mason’s Romance Takes Center Stage

Stella Lefty and Vincent Mason have quickly become two of country music’s most interesting rising names, but during CMA Fest, their relationship became part of the story, too. The couple was seemingly everywhere together throughout the week, showing up in videos, couple challenges and behind-the-scenes clips that kept fans invested well beyond the stage. Mason also brought Lefty out at Nissan Stadium, turning their real-life connection into one of the weekend’s sweetest onstage moments.

Their chemistry has only added to the attention around their new duet, “Something To Lose,” which appears on Lefty’s debut country EP, Is This Heaven? Both artists are already building momentum on their own, with Lefty gaining traction through viral songs and Mason continuing to rise through major career moments, including award recognition, national TV exposure and chart success. Together, they gave CMA Fest fans a relationship, a duet and a rising-star storyline to follow all week long.

5. Glen Powell Turns CMA Fest Into a Movie Set

Glen Powell delivered one of the most unexpected moments of CMA Fest when he appeared during Riley Green’s set at Nissan Stadium while filming scenes for his upcoming country music comedy, The Comeback King. Powell stepped onstage in character as fictional country singer Aubrey King, complete with a black cowboy hat and mustache, before turning the packed stadium into part of the movie.

Instead of simply waving to the crowd, Powell led fans in what he called a “Nashville shoey,” chugging a beer from a cowboy boot and encouraging the audience to join in. Before leaving the stage, he thanked the crowd for being part of the film, confirming that CMA Fest fans had officially become movie extras.
