Hundreds of country music fans put on their detective hats this morning after Tim McGraw, Eric Church, HARDY, and Morgan Wallen all shared cryptic posts on their Instagrams. Their comment sections quickly turned into endless rabbit holes full of theories, as none of the musicians gave any context alongside the photos.

McGraw kicked off the string of mysterious posts by sharing a photo containing a worn black background and the name “John McArthur” written in a vintage typeface. Along with the name, the photo also gives a birth and death date — “b. November 2, 1920 d. November 22, 1963.”
Wallen posted a similar image on his Instagram story shortly after, with his reading “Hunter McArthur b. May 13, 1993.” Church came next, with his image saying “Junior McArthur b. September 2, 1945 d. April 4, 1967.” HARDY swooped in last, with his version of the image reading “Jones McArthur b. June 5, 1968 d. January 5, 2025.”
While none of the posts include a caption or any sort of explanation, fans have pointed out that Church dropped hints during his two shows in Washington, D.C. last week about a new project coming soon.

“On January 30, we’ve got a surprise coming,” Church said during his show at The Anthem last Thursday. “It’s the s–t.”
Church also teased the unknown project to his crowd the following night.
“On January 30, something is going to happen, and you’re going to f–king love it.”
Since the posts rolled out, fan theories have flown in left and right. Whether it be a possible joint project, concept album,
or the newest country supergroup, fans continue to buzz in anticipation for more hints and count the minutes until Jan. 30.
