Graham is currently in the ICU as his injuries include "a broken back, broken neck, and broken ribs" and tests are still being conducted to better understand all the injuries sustained. Graham's daughter detailed the events of the accident, and Graham was "hit by one semi and then slammed into another".

It was a car accident in 2017 that landed the songwriter incarcerated for five years. This devastating news comes right before the release of his album, Uppers and Downers, on March 6th.

Graham's daughter states that JD was practically run over by a semi as he was traveling to Oklahoma for shows he has coming up. She also detailed that the songwriter was traveling with his dad's dog, and the dog was killed in the accident. Graham was transported to a hospital and then lifeflighted to a trauma center in Amarillo.
