Lainey Wilson took to Instagram on May 14 to announce that she and former NFL quarterback turned entrepreneur Devlin 'Duck' Hodges were officially married on May 10 at Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee. The wedding was beautifully understated and perfect for spring with a lighter pastel and earth tone color scheme, and was featured in Vogue. The event also included subtle nods to Wilson’s Louisiana roots, musical references, and a jaw-dropping dress that surprised fans.

Wilson and Hodges first met through mutual friends on a blind date before quietly building a relationship away from the spotlight. After several years together, Hodges proposed at the former estate of country legend George Jones in 2025. From the beginning, their engagement to their recent wedding, the couple’s relationship has felt deeply tied to the country music and Southern culture that defines both of their upbringings.
Their wedding brought in these roots in a way that was elegant and timeless. The couple wanted a venue that felt intimate and natural, eventually landing on Ruskin Cave just outside of Nashville. The venue’s stone interiors, candlelight, soft florals, and surrounding greenery matched the overall aesthetic of the wedding perfectly. Everything felt very spring, very Southern, and very them.

Some of the wedding details felt especially personal to Wilson and the life she has built throughout her career. A 12-piece jazz band brought Wilson’s Louisiana and Cajun influences into the celebration. Additionally, Wilson reportedly got ready inside her tour bus before the ceremony. Even her French bulldog, Hippie Mae Wilson, made an appearance at the wedding, decked out in a bow that perfectly matched the color scheme.
For a performer who is always known for bright colors, daring looks, and of course her signature bell bottoms, Wilson’s custom Oscar de la Renta wedding dress was surprisingly simple but absolutely stunning and fitting to who she wanted to be on her wedding day. Rather than leaning into something over-the-top, the gown felt timeless and elegant while still staying true to her personality and style as it was form fitting and detailed with cherry blossoms across the neckline and hemline. Hodges complemented the look with a classic western-inspired formal look complete with a bolo tie.

The ceremony itself leaned more pastel, floral, and romantic, while the reception took on more of a country twist. The couple wore cowboy hats and boots inscribed with the wedding date for the reception, and metal solo cups added a playful Southern touch to the evening.
Alongside family and close friends, the guest list was also notably star-studded with guests including Ella Langley, Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Wynonna Judd, and Drew Baldridge, and more.
The couple’s exit was also referential to country music, specifically one of Wilson’s songs. Wilson and Hodges left the reception in a white Ford truck, a nod many fans connected back to Wilson’s song “4X4XU,” which is widely believed to be inspired by Hodges. When the pair first announced their engagement in February 2025, Wilson captioned the post “4X4XU forever,” making the wedding sendoff feel even more full circle.

With “Southern elegance” continuing to trend across weddings, fashion, and social media, Wilson’s wedding may have set the mold for what that aesthetic should actually look like. In a time where celebrity weddings continue shaping bridal trends and online inspiration, Wilson’s approach felt elevated without trying too hard. It blended classic country elements with a softer, more refined style that still felt approachable and authentic to who she is.
Fans will now get to see Wilson take the stage at this weekend’s Academy of Country Music Awards as a married woman, adding another major moment to an already massive year for the country superstar.
