What better way to kick off a busy CMA Fest week than with friendly competition for a meaningful cause?
That is exactly what happened on Monday night at First Horizon Park in Nashville, where the Folds of Honor Rock ‘N Jock Celebrity Softball Game brought together country artists, athletes, creators and personalities for a star-studded night in support of educational scholarships for the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders.

Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, has made it its mission to “Honor Their Sacrifice. Educate Their Legacy.” The organization provides scholarships for K-12 education, tutoring, college, trade school and postgraduate programs.
Now in its sixth year, the Nashville celebrity softball game once again took over the home of the Nashville Sounds for one of the most entertaining charity events of CMA Fest week.
The game featured two teams: Team Military and Team First Responders.
The rosters of both teams were almost as star-studded as CMA Fest itself.
Team Military was captained by Riley Green and featured Gavin Adcock, Danae Hays, Jordan Davis, Warren Zeiders, RaeLynn, Cooper Alan, Jessie James Decker, Eric Decker and more.
Team First Responders was captained by Zach Top and featured HARDY, Ashley Cooke, Parker McCollum, Chris Lane, Priscilla Block, Jay Cutler, Roger Clemens, Travis Pastrana, Ross Chastain and more.
While the night was not centered around music, it still delivered plenty of competition, laughs and viral-worthy moments. In case you missed it, here are some of the biggest highlights from the Folds of Honor Rock ‘N Jock Celebrity Softball Game.
1. Riley Green gave a pregame pep talk
Riley Green made sure Team Military came out ready to win. Before the game, Green delivered a pregame pep talk that set the tone for the night, joking that one team would be heading to a bar after the game while the other would be left to sulk somewhere else. This was likely a referenceAs he told Fort Nash, things were “gonna get ugly,” and he wanted his team ready from the start. For a charity softball game, Green made one thing clear: Team Military was taking it seriously.
2. Marine Corps Capt. Jackson Perkins sang the national anthem
Active-duty Marine Corps Capt. Jackson Perkins delivered one of the night’s most fitting moments with his performance of the national anthem. The Marine-turned-country singer brought a deep, classic country voice that immediately stood out and felt especially powerful given the mission of the event. His performance blended the night’s purpose with the country music backdrop, making it one of the most memorable moments before the first pitch was even thrown. Perkins has previously performed with Riley Green and is quickly becoming one to watch.
3. Zach Top and Gavin Adcock battle it out for #1 beer drinker
There may have been an actual softball game happening, but Zach Top and Gavin Adcock had a competition of their own. Top became a fan favorite at last year’s game thanks to his beer helmet and his need for cigarettes between innings. This year, Gavin Adcock stepped up as a worthy challenger. Known for his wild stage presence and party reputation, Adcock had plenty of people wondering if Top would be able to defend his unofficial title. By the end of the night, Jordan Davis settled the debate during postgame superlatives, naming Zach Top the #1 beer drinker.
4. The mascots stole the show
The celebrities were not the only ones keeping the crowd entertained. Booster the Rooster, the Nashville Sounds’ mascot, was spotted breaking out several dance moves throughout the night. The Black Rifle Coffee mascots, known as the Tactisquatch, also made their presence known, along with Jockey’s underwear mascot. It was chaotic, ridiculous and exactly the kind of energy that made the night feel more like a full-blown entertainment event than a traditional softball game.
5. Team Military took home the win
In the end, Team Military came out on top. Gavin Adcock delivered the game-winning hit, allowing two teammates to make it home and secure the victory. Comedian, Danae Hays, also reminded everyone of her softball background at the University of Alabama, proving she was more than ready for the moment as she made the dash for the winning homerun. It was a big win for Team Military, but an even bigger win for Folds of Honor. The event raised more than $700,000 for educational scholarships, making the night about far more than a final score.
